Types of grow lights
High-intensity discharge lights: It is the most common type of indoor grow lights. Mercury vapor, conversion bulbs, high-pressure sodium, and metal halide are some types of high-intensity discharge light. HPS lamps and metal halide can be used for growing plants because they produce a color spectrum which is comparable to sunlight.
Light emitting diodes (LED): These plant growing lights are composed of light emitting diodes. Led lights for growing plants have different colors according to the need of plant. If both blue and red lights are given to a plant then it will grow faster.
Fluorescent lights: These lights come in different shapes that are thin bulbs, small spiral-shaped bulbs or long bulbs. There are two main types of fluorescent lights that are used for plant growth that is compact fluorescent light and tube style light.
Led lights for growing plants are not costly that is why they are easily available in stores. Blue and red color Led lights are costly and are not easily available, so green color led light can be used in their replacement. Green color light also helps the plant to grow fast. In grow rooms, all plants are kept in one room with each other. Some grow rooms are used as an experiment and some are used because plants did not get proper sunlight for their growth. In an experiment, they see how fast a plant grow if it is kept in Led light and which color spectrum produce more effect in growth.
